crochet=obsession

wow, i swore earlier today
that I wouldn't be crocheting
ANYTHING for awhile
~check out the monkeys, I finally finished them
they look a bit like bears though...
yet here I am, into another project before the day is through...

I saw a site earlier today with some cute dolls,
i was planning on making some dolls next, but...
now this rug thing idea has taken hold
i will be filling the coffee table with crocheted circles
of green, pink white and brown
and my man just smiles and says
what are you doing now??!!!
look at you go.
and he winks at me, a knowing look in his eyes...
i won't be making any dinner tonight.

luckily he is a very resourceful man
and he even did the laundry...
it's truly love on a deep level.

new green coffee shop/diner

I live in Waterford, MI. and trying to find healthy food is a problem. Well, as of this week, problem solved!! Pekoe & Joe has finally opened up on the corner of Vorheis and Huron st. They have an organic, whole foods based menu. They have coffee, tea, breakfast, lunch, and dinner!! It's also a drive thru which makes it so easy when you're in a hurry.
I had a late breakfast as a result of waiting in line to send some jewelry off at the Post Office. I got a egg and cheese bagel and a chai latte. YUMMMMMMY! The girl who took my order was so nice and friendly, very patient with my pregnant indecisive self.
Check out their website. Helping to support local businesses that have a conscience is a priority for me. Besides the food is yummy.

I love to work with fellow artists. Something about getting together and letting those ideas flow... it's better than wine. A couple pieces in the last posts were done with an artist in San Diego called MOFO. you can check him out on myspace. He is part of The Dope Show, a collection of artists that have shows pretty regularly in Downtown San Diego. He also does a lot of custom work. Amazing stuff. Check him out. Custom orders welcome

I love to hear about what you've been dreaming up, or an idea that you have for any artwork, jewelry, purse, item of clothing...etc... I love a challenge! Just send me an email and I will try to create what you are looking for!

I can create stencils from almost any photograph, of a person, pet, favorite place... for a custom piece on a canvas, t-shirt, fabric, etc... if you can think of it, I can find a way to make it reality.

For example, someone came to me with a picture of himself on his first day of school in Japan. He was standing with his mother in front of a monument. I created 2 pieces on framed canvas, and 2 t-shirts. Each a unique piece of work, yet all from the same photograph. He was extremely pleased and has since ordered another t-shirt of the same stencil and another piece on an unframed piece of canvas fabric to send to his sister in Japan.

Here are some examples of some stencils I have made, and the resulting artwork. Some of these examples are shown unfinished, without a background or surrounding artwork.

Here are a few pieces that I have done in the last couple years. I love painting. Stencils rock my world!! Graffiti is always a huge influence. Magenta might be my favorite spray paint color. I seem to use it often. Enjoy!
